Statement of Intent
Media institutions
For my posters to be advertised in a public setting they must comply with standard complicities to be displayed. This includes not showing any harmful or offensive content which would include, violence, drug use, or sexual content. These must not be present I my poster although due to the theme of my poster being based on Disney as a company and how they captured the magic of their films into their parks, this would be relatively easy to ensure as my target audience would be universal. I checked over my posters to ensure that it was appropriate for public appearance. So, therefore by avoiding the tropes no unnecessary links and references can be made which would otherwise jeopardise the company and cause audience drop or tainted reputation which can affect how an audience sees a platform fake news outlets are an example of this.
Media audience
I will appeal to my audience by relying on the mood and aspects and appeal to Disney’s wide range of audiences which is due in part to Disney’s larch branch of franchises. So, I made each of my posters hold a different mood to appeal to all of Disney’s fans. For example, in my ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ poster I made the tones match that of the movie but also the darker tone of poster and the reds of the text as well as the skull rock. Allows for the appropriate audience for that specific movie which would be around 12+ as well as previous watchers of the pirates of the Caribbean franchise may be drawn in from the iconography of skull rock. On the other hand, my second poster, which features maleficent which is a staple villain of the Disney franchise it is bright and colourful bringing a lot of attention to it, and once again the iconography also brings great attraction to the poster although ‘maleficent’ is a more universal character that is aimed to a more general audience. But in general, all my posters will have individual grabbing content however each one [mostly] relies on iconography which is usually what makes a Disney character stand out among what it is being advertised within.
